Waterwheel Farm & Ahaura Lodge

West Coast, South Island, New Zealand

Our eco-lodge is located in a private valley, and on a working farm, on the West Coast of New Zealand's South Island. The eco-lodge is surrounded by beautiful native forest with an abundance of native birds that live here all year round. There is a 5-metre water wheel (which we built ourselves) near to the house which supplies 'off the grid' electricity and places the water into a man-made pond. The eco-lodge is surrounded by DOC land, easy to access walking tracks, and the valley is full of remnants of the late 1800's gold rush. We are also the access from Ahaura to Napoleon Hill 4x4 Track and the Waipuna Tunnels.

Please Note: Fishing Is a 15-min drive to the Ahaura River.
